San Martino with sandy and well drained soil there was planted mainly Syrah and Sangiovese: produces wines of great elegance and harmony; Gabbiano with its clayey-calcareous soil ideal for Cabernet and Syrah, produces wines of great structure and power; and finally, the vineyards of Montanare with soil composed of stones and lime ideal to grow Merlot and Trebbiano, here, at the top at the edge of a forest Riccardo has launched great challenge: to plant Pinot Noir.
