Though I felt no wish to be one, destiny made me a pharmacist,like my mother, such is life…On her sudden, premature death I tried to like the work she had preserved for me. From thart moment I began a long and pleasant cultural course of development. My passion for cosmetics and medicinal herbs was indeed great… and came to grow day by day. During the course of specialization in cosmetic science and technology I thought up my brand name – “The Country Gentleman” – in honour of people free in spirit who make good use of what they have. It is in one’s inner self that one is a gentleman. I am not interested in passing fashions, the aim has been to prepare something of lasting value, recovering the best of the past.

Where in TuscanyAfter years, thanks to the kindness of my colleague Emanuela, the real keystone of the pharmacy in the main square of Mercatale Valdarno,among the hills of the Arezzo Chianti, I have opened a small, well-equipped laboratory in an old ‘palazzo’, where we produce very small quantities of exclusively herbal cosmetics. Only now, though conscious of our limits, are we hesitantly trying to face the market, fearfully and with great hopes.
