IL LABORATORIO, Quarrata
This carpentry shop is the result of Aldo’s passion for working with a wood, a passion that dates all the way back to 1970. It finally convinced him to leave a steady job and dedicate all his time to his true love: restoration. The art of bringing new life to old things, restoring original splendour to articles long forgotten, abandoned in cellars to gather dust. Over time he refined this art and his passion grew, as did his daughter, Alessia, who inherited her father’s love of wood and creation. Together they created a small workshop where the combination of old and new, the art of woodworking and a desire for innovation, led to the first design objects and the first pieces of bespoke furniture that fully respect a craft tradition with ancient deep roots in Tuscany.

where in TuscanyToday this workshop is a modern carpentry laboratory that has grow thanks to Aldo’s and Alessia’s imagination and professionalism. It is still passionate about wood, restoration and creation, and with wood does exactly what a tailor manages to do whit a piece of cloth: creating “the perfect fit”. It has become an characteristic element, the irreplaceable priority of Il Laboratorio, is a constant search for innovation, but only if this is an improvement. Another priority is that must be eco-friendly and recyclable, just like wood.
