The Estate of Castelnuovo Tancredi encompasses over 600 hectares of the surrounding hillside of Montalcino in the region of Siena, precisely between Siena and the Orcia Valley. Many illustrious Italian families had owned this property such as the Guglieschi, the Borghese, and the Tancredi families, from whom the property was named after, prior to the acquisition of the estate by the Venturini Del Greco family approximately five generations ago. Their priority has always been to maintain the flavour and tradition of the estate while making modern improvements where necessary over the years. As in the past the extensive cereal production the oil production and the 8 hectares of vineyards make up the modern day reality of Castelnuovo Tancredi, where pride is taken to fully respect nature using organic agricultural methods.

The estate has 8 hectares of specialized vineyards which are made up of various grapes and clones such as Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Foglia Tonda, Colorino, Chardonnay and Trebbiano Toscano. The grapes are harvested and prepared for the wine making process in the enchanting and antique cellar situated on the Estate to later become the DOC ORCIA and IGT blends. There are also over 500 century-old olive trees growing on the property besides the 2 hectare specialized olive grove which contains approximately 1,000 trees of the Leccino, Frantoio, Maurino and Pendolino varieties. The 100% biological methods used produce the Estate’s Extra Vergin Olive Oil D.O.P. Named Terre di Siena Castelnuovo Tancredi.
